History

Badassery Studios was founded in the summer of 2010 by Ricky Martinez and Chris Shehan following their work on a mini series called Hell Paso published by JimmyDaze Comics. Chris and Ricky had always wanted to motivate other artists and help them in every way to succeed while they themselves sought success in art. After months of busy work on Hell Paso Chris and Ricky decided they wanted to do their own books. They decided that starting a studio together would be the best way to build a portfolio, work on their own projects, and work with other motivated talent while pushing towards their goals as a team. After weeks of trying to decide on a name for the studio they settled with Badassery Studios. Along with it’s donkey mascot Rocker Frank. Soon after, the two aspiring illustrators brought in some motivated artists from all different parts of the globe to build a team. Badassery Studios’ first book of many (Johnny Samurai Private Eye) by Robert Barnett was completed December 2010 and released January 2011. The goal of Badassery Studios is to work together as a team to help each member reach their individual goals while providing great art to the world.
